Darkbore Pathway // Slitherbore Pathway

Darkbore Pathway // Slitherbore Pathway was originally released as part of the Secret Lair: Ultimate Edition, a premium box set designed to showcase the highly requested double-faced land cycle from the Zendikar Rising set. Released by Wizards of the Coast, this collection was aimed at providing collectors and high-level players with special borderless, full-art treatments of these utility lands, which are fundamental to mana bases in both Standard and eternal formats due to their flexibility in tapping for one of two different colors.

The art for this specific card was commissioned to capture the distinct aesthetic of the Zendikar plane, emphasizing the duality of the card's two states. The illustration style follows the cohesive, sweeping visual language developed for the Zendikar Rising expansion, intended to evoke a sense of adventurous exploration. The reception among the player base was largely focused on the card's utility in competitive play, with the premium foil treatment and unique frame serving as a coveted aesthetic upgrade for enthusiasts of the game's collectible side.
