Desert Twister

Desert Twister was introduced in the 1994 Revised Edition of Magic: The Gathering, serving as a core component of the set's expanded pool of green removal spells. Its creation followed the earlier Alpha and Beta releases, functioning as a vital utility card that allowed green decks to destroy any permanent, a rare and powerful capability within the game's color identity at the time. The card was designed to provide players with a versatile, albeit high-cost, answer to threats that green typically struggled to address.

The card features artwork by Susan Van Camp, who contributed numerous illustrations to the early years of the game.
