Desert Twister

Desert Twister originated in the 1994 Summer Magic expansion, often referred to as the Edgar set. Produced by Wizards of the Coast for the international market, this set was a repackaged version of the Revised Edition base set, intended to provide a more accessible entry point for new players in specific regions. The cards maintain the classic aesthetic established during the early years of the game, featuring the original layout and frame design that defined the game's formative era.

The art for this card, as with much of the set, draws from the established pool of illustrations commissioned for the Revised Edition. By the time of the Summer Magic release, the game’s visual identity was still transitioning from a loose collection of disparate fantasy styles to a more cohesive artistic direction. Desert Twister represents a functional staple of the era, prized by players for its utility in gameplay and by collectors today as a rare artifact from one of the most enigmatic print runs in the history of the hobby.
