Where it came from
The Dragon Engine was originally featured as part of the Alpha and Beta sets of Magic: The Gathering, designed by Richard Garfield to represent a modular, construct-style creature. It was later included in the 1994 Summer Magic set, also known as Edgar, which was a limited print run intended to correct printing errors found in the Revised Edition. The set was largely destroyed due to quality control concerns, making its few surviving cards some of the most sought-after rarities in the game.
