The Dragon Engine from the Summer Magic set, also known as the Edgar set, represents one of the most storied anomalies in the history of Magic: The Gathering. Produced in 1994 by Cartamundi, this limited print run was intended to be a corrected edition of the Revised base set, addressing various color and text errors found in the original. However, due to a series of printing mishaps and production hurdles, the set was largely destroyed, leaving only a small quantity of cards to enter private circulation.

The art for this specific card, consistent with the original Revised printing, was illustrated by Dan Frazier. His work on the Dragon Engine reflects the gritty, high-fantasy aesthetic of early Magic, emphasizing the mechanical and beast-like nature of the construct.
