Where it came from
Drawn from Dreams was originally printed as part of the Core Set 2020 expansion for Magic: The Gathering, released by Wizards of the Coast in July 2019. The card is a blue sorcery that draws cards based on the number of creatures you control, fitting into the set's focus on creature-heavy strategies and resource advantage. It was designed to provide a mid-to-late game boost for blue decks, particularly those utilizing the set's elemental and token-generating themes.
This specific promo version, numbered 56p, features alternate-frame artwork created by illustrator Magali Villeneuve. Known for her expressive character work and ethereal lighting, Villeneuve was commissioned to provide a unique aesthetic for the promo release that distinguishes it from the standard card frame. The artwork was well-received by the player base for its evocative interpretation of the card's theme of gathering knowledge and inspiration through one's board state.
