Where it came from
Drawn from Dreams was released as part of the Core Set 2020 expansion for Magic: The Gathering, featuring unique alternate art created specifically for promotional use. The card depicts a classic blue-aligned card draw effect, consistent with the set's design philosophy of balancing accessible mechanics for newer players while providing utility for established deck archetypes.
The promotional illustration for this version was rendered by artist Magali Villeneuve, known for her intricate fantasy work within the game. Her design focuses on the ethereal, contemplative nature of the spell, aiming to capture the essence of a mage channeling arcane knowledge. Upon release, the promo was distributed through various organized play channels, becoming a sought-after piece for players who appreciate the visual narrative Villeneuve brings to the medium.
