Provenance

Where it came from

Drown in Dreams was released in 2021 as part of the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Commander set. This card is a signature blue sorcery designed to capture the gothic horror atmosphere of the plane of Innistrad, specifically focusing on the set's themes of resurging nightmares and the intersection of water-based magic and psychological dread.

The card was illustrated by Wisnu Tan, who utilized a moody, atmospheric palette to emphasize the feeling of sinking into an inescapable abyss. The design serves as both a card-draw mechanism and a graveyard-filling tool, mechanics that reflect the set's emphasis on utilizing the graveyard as a secondary resource for players to manipulate throughout their matches.
