Eldrazi Spawn

The Eldrazi Spawn token was released as part of the Modern Masters 2015 set, designed to support the set's limited environment which featured various cards capable of creating these creatures. These tokens represent the parasitic, otherworldly entities associated with the Eldrazi faction in the Magic: The Gathering multiverse, characterized by their ability to be sacrificed for mana. Their inclusion in this reprint-focused set allowed players to effectively manage the complex board states required by Eldrazi-themed strategies.

The visual design of this token draws upon the established aesthetic of the Rise of the Eldrazi era, emphasizing the uncanny and amorphous nature of these creatures. Illustrators tasked with depicting Eldrazi tokens typically focus on surreal, tentacled anatomy that contrasts with the more traditional fantasy races found elsewhere in the game. Upon release, the token was well-received by players for its utility in gameplay and for maintaining the cohesive, unsettling visual language established for the Eldrazi lineage.
