Where it came from
Eternal Acrobat Toast is part of the sticker sheet collection released in the 2022 Magic: The Gathering set Unfinity. Designed by Wizards of the Coast, this set leaned heavily into a retro-futuristic, carnival-themed aesthetic, aiming to bring lighthearted, mechanics-focused gameplay to the tabletop. The sticker sheets were introduced as a novel, temporary game element, designed to allow players to customize their creatures with persistent attributes during a match, a departure from the traditional permanent-card format.
The art and layout for these sheets were crafted to evoke the kitschy, colorful stickers found in classic children's sticker books and novelty craft shops. By integrating vibrant illustrations and quirky labels, the design team sought to capture a whimsical, circus-inspired atmosphere. While the concept of sticker-based mechanics was highly experimental and polarized the competitive community due to its complexity in non-casual environments, it remains a distinct, thematic high point of the Un-series of sets.
