What it does
When this enchantment enters, choose two target creatures. For as long as this enchantment remains on the battlefield, exchange the text boxes of those creatures.
Before criticizing, walk a mile (about 1.6 kilometers) in their head. That way, when you do, you're a mile away and you have their head.

Where it came from
Exchange of Words was released in October 2022 as part of the Unfinity expansion for Magic: The Gathering. This set, the fourth in the Un-series, was designed by Wizards of the Coast to blend silver-bordered humor with black-bordered gameplay legality, introducing stickers and attractions to the game’s core mechanics. The card was specifically crafted for the set’s focus on whimsical and complex interactive effects, aiming to provide a high-chaos moment in casual Commander games.
The art was illustrated by artist Wisnu Tan, who captured the card's surreal theme through a vibrant, fantastical depiction of magical entities trading voices. The design intent behind the card's mechanical function—swapping text boxes between two creatures—was to push the boundaries of state-based actions within the game rules. Upon its release, the card was widely discussed by players for its potential to create convoluted board states, becoming a hallmark of the set’s experimental design philosophy.
