Faerie Mastermind

Faerie Mastermind was released as part of the promotional offerings for the March of the Machine expansion of Magic: The Gathering. The card was designed to capitalize on the set's theme of a multiversal invasion, featuring a high-utility creature that rewards players for interacting with their opponents' card-draw mechanics. Its mechanics, particularly the ability to draw a card when an opponent does, made it an immediate point of interest for competitive players looking to gain card advantage in fast-paced formats.

The card’s visual identity is defined by the illustrative work of artist Justine Cruz, who crafted the character to embody the quintessential aesthetic of the Faerie creature type. The design emphasizes a blend of mischievous elegance and ethereal power, consistent with the visual language of the game's high-fantasy world-building. Upon release, it was well-received by the player base for its strategic versatility, quickly becoming a staple in various constructed formats and remaining a sought-after collectible for those who appreciate both its competitive power and artistic execution.
