Faerie Mastermind

Faerie Mastermind was released in 2023 as part of the March of the Machine Commander set, specifically featured in the Growing Threat deck. The card is designed to capitalize on the core gameplay mechanics of Magic: The Gathering, specifically rewarding players for card draw interactions, which aligns with the traditional mechanical identity of blue-aligned faerie creatures. It was created to provide a versatile, flash-enabled threat that pressures opponents while offering utility in a multiplayer format.

The illustration is credited to artist Justine Jones, who rendered the subject with the ethereal and mischievous aesthetic characteristic of the faerie creature type within the game's multiverse. Upon its release, the card received significant attention from the competitive Commander community due to its low mana cost and efficient ability to generate card advantage, quickly establishing itself as a staple in various deck archetypes that emphasize draw-go strategies.
