Forbidden Orchard

Forbidden Orchard was originally introduced in the Champions of Kamigawa expansion in 2004, designed as a utility land that provides mana of any color at the cost of providing an opponent with a 1/1 Spirit token. The design intent was to create a balanced risk-reward dynamic, offering significant flexibility in deck construction while presenting a tangible drawback that could be exploited by aggressive decks or specific battlefield strategies.

The Double Masters 2022 printing features artwork by Drew Tucker, a veteran illustrator known for his distinctively impressionistic and watercolor-heavy style. Tucker’s rendition for this version evokes a haunting, overgrown aesthetic that aligns with the card’s thematic identity.
