Restoration Angel

Restoration Angel was originally introduced in the 2012 set Avacyn Restored, designed to be a potent staple for white-aligned midrange and control decks. Its flash ability and battlefield-entry trigger, which allows for the flickering of other creatures, provided players with a versatile tool for both board stabilization and the reuse of powerful enter-the-battlefield effects. The card quickly became a fixture in competitive formats, particularly Modern, where its ability to protect key creatures from removal made it a highly reliable threat.

The version from Double Masters 2022 features updated aesthetics common to the set's premium reprint approach, intended to provide players with a refreshed visual take on a classic card. By including it in this high-profile compilation set, the designers aimed to increase availability for newer collectors and competitive players while maintaining the card's original mechanical identity. As a centerpiece of the set's white-mana offerings, it serves as a bridge between the historical legacy of the Avacyn block and the contemporary demands of the game's competitive scene.
