Glimpse of Tomorrow

Glimpse of Tomorrow was released as part of the Modern Horizons 2 set in June 2021. Designed specifically for the Modern format, the set aimed to introduce cards that injected complexity and new mechanical possibilities into the game. The card itself utilizes the 'suspend' mechanic, a returning feature that forces players to navigate long-term resource planning, reflecting the set's focus on high-variance, high-reward play patterns.

The card features artwork by Wisnu Tan, who crafted a surreal, dreamlike landscape that embodies the card's theme of temporal displacement. The design is intended to evoke a sense of chaotic transformation, mirroring its functional role in the game where it shuffles the player's board state into an unknown future. It was received by the player base as a powerful, albeit unpredictable, build-around card that rewarded players for constructing decks that could mitigate the randomness of its effect.
