Glory Seeker

Glory Seeker was originally introduced in the Onslaught expansion in 2002 before being reprinted in the Ninth Edition core set in 2005. As a common white creature, it was designed to serve as a fundamental building block for limited play formats, providing a standard two-mana soldier for players to utilize in aggressive deck strategies. The inclusion of the card in Ninth Edition helped maintain a consistent power baseline during the transition between thematic expansion blocks.

The artwork for this version was commissioned from Dave Dorman, an illustrator renowned for his work in the fantasy and science fiction genres, particularly within the Star Wars universe. Dorman employed his signature painterly style to provide a more visceral, cinematic depiction of a combat-ready soldier compared to the more traditional fantasy illustrations common in the game's early years. His contribution was part of a broader effort by Wizards of the Coast to elevate the visual standard of core set cards during the mid-2000s.
