What it does
At the beginning of your end step, if you gained 3 or more life this turn, create a 2/2 white Griffin creature token with flying.
When griffins started nesting atop the northern tower, the castellan worried they'd be a nuisance. Instead, they took the entire castle under their protection.

Where it came from
Griffin Aerie was originally introduced in the Magic: The Gathering core set 2021, released in July 2020. The card was designed to support the 'flying matters' archetype, a recurring mechanical theme in white decks that rewards players for fielding creatures with the flying keyword. By allowing players to generate a creature token whenever they gain life, the enchantment provides both board presence and a synergistic incentive for white-aligned strategy.
The card’s illustration was created by artist Igor Kieryluk, whose work is characterized by dramatic lighting and a sense of scale. Kieryluk aimed to depict the noble, lofty nature of the griffins, framing them within a majestic, cloud-piercing aerie that emphasizes their aerial dominance. Upon its release, the card was well-received by players in limited formats for its ability to stabilize games and provide recurring value.
