Where it came from
This card originated in the 2024 Magic: The Gathering Fallout set, a collaboration that brought the post-apocalyptic role-playing game universe into the tabletop card game format. The card features Harold, a recurring character who has appeared in nearly every Fallout title, depicted alongside Bob, the tree sprout growing from his head. This specific design was created to celebrate the long-standing, symbiotic relationship between the two characters, serving as a homage to the lore of the wasteland.
The artwork was commissioned to capture the distinct, mutated aesthetic of the Fallout franchise, focusing on the character's unique morphology and his tragic yet enduring presence in the series. By highlighting the pair as First Numens, the card emphasizes their mythological status within the game's setting. It was well-received by fans of both the video game series and the card game for its faithful representation of one of the franchise's most iconic and unusual character pairings.
