Ingenious Infiltrator // Ingenious Infiltrator

Ingenious Infiltrator was originally released as a Rare card in the Modern Horizons set in 2019, designed to introduce cards directly into the Modern format. The Art Series version, designated as collector number 21, serves as a high-quality display piece featuring the original illustration by Randy Vargas. This series was produced specifically for collectors to showcase the distinct visual language and world-building of the Magic: The Gathering multiverse without the functional game text found on standard cards.

The design of the character highlights the sleek, enigmatic aesthetic of the Ninjas of Kamigawa. Randy Vargas utilized a high-contrast palette and dynamic lighting to emphasize the subject's agility and stealth, aligning with the creature’s mechanical ability to draw cards when dealing combat damage. The piece has been well-regarded by fans of the game for its atmospheric composition, effectively bridging the nostalgic design of the original Kamigawa block with modern artistic standards.
