Where it came from
Karoo is a blue creature card originally printed in the Ravnica: City of Guilds expansion in 2005. It represents the namesake location of the Azorius Senate, a sprawling, rigid architectural hub within the cityscape of Ravnica. The design was crafted to showcase the block's unique land cycle, which emphasizes the theme of guild-run utility through its ability to provide two mana while forcing a player to return a land to their hand, reflecting the bureaucratic complexity of the plane.
