What it does
Flying
When Kharis & The Beholder enters and at the beginning of your upkeep, create a 1/1 white Human creature token and make a charisma check. (Roll a d20.)
• If the result plus the number of creatures you control is greater than 11, put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control.
• If the result is a natural 20, for each nonlegendary creature you control, create a token that's a copy of that creature.

Where it came from
Kharis & The Beholder was produced in 2018 as part of the inaugural Heroes of the Realm set, a unique series of promotional Magic: The Gathering cards created by Wizards of the Coast. These cards were not sold in retail stores; instead, they were exclusively minted as gifts for Wizards of the Coast employees to recognize significant contributions to specific game development projects. The card commemorates the team that worked on the Dungeons & Dragons crossover content, featuring art and mechanics that bridge the two iconic properties.
The card features an illustration by Titus Lunter, who was tasked with visually merging the distinct aesthetic of Magic: The Gathering with the classic Dungeons & Dragons monster, the Beholder. The design intentionally breaks standard competitive balancing conventions, as the card was intended as a commemorative token rather than a tournament-legal piece. Upon its introduction, it became highly sought after by collectors due to its extreme scarcity and its status as a tangible piece of corporate history within the tabletop gaming industry.
