Kobolds of Kher Keep

Kobolds of Kher Keep originated as a creature card in the 1994 Legends expansion for Magic: The Gathering, designed by Richard Garfield to represent the small, dog-like creatures from the lore of the setting of Kher Keep. The tokens featured in the Masters 25 set were released in 2018 as part of a commemorative product designed to celebrate the history of the game by featuring cards from throughout its first twenty-five years of existence.

The art for these tokens draws upon the established aesthetic of the Kobold tribe within the game's multiverse. While the original cards were illustrated by various artists, the token designs for Masters 25 were intended to provide a functional, standardized visual aid for players whose decks included cards that could create Kobold tokens. They are recognized by the community primarily for their utility in gameplay rather than as individual artistic milestones.
