Where it came from
The Land Station card, cataloged as RG02e, emerged from an unconventional, non-standard promotional event rather than a traditional retail expansion. While its specific release history remains somewhat opaque due to its limited distribution, such cards were typically crafted during experimental periods of the trading card game's lifecycle to serve as functional utility pieces for tournament play or as niche aesthetic variants for collectors.
The design of the card emphasizes a minimalist, utilitarian layout, prioritizing clarity and gameplay function over the intricate illustrative style found in core sets. Designers during this era often leaned into a stark, graphic-heavy aesthetic to distinguish promotional items from the narrative-driven art of standard releases, a choice that has since earned the card a dedicated, if specialized, following among completist collectors.
