Managorger Hydra

Managorger Hydra was first introduced in the Magic Origins set, released by Wizards of the Coast in July 2015. The card was designed as a rare green creature meant to embody the growth mechanics central to the color green, featuring a 'trample' ability that scales in power as players cast additional spells. Its inclusion in the Magic Origins Promos series, specifically marked with the collector number 186s, signifies its distribution as a promotional item during the release cycle, often provided to players at pre-release events or through localized tournament support programs.

The artwork for the card was created by Tyler Jacobson, a fantasy illustrator known for his dynamic contributions to the Magic: The Gathering franchise. Jacobson designed the hydra to emphasize a sense of immense, surging organic power, utilizing sharp, angular textures and a vibrant color palette to differentiate it from traditional, more serpentine hydra designs. Upon release, the card was well-received by players for its synergy with spell-heavy deck archetypes, cementing its status as a staple for casual commander formats and limited-time competitive play.
