Where it came from
Oviya, Automech Artisan was released in the Aetherdrift set as a legendary creature card. Designed within the thematic framework of an artifice-focused civilization, the card reflects a narrative centered on inventors who specialize in mechanical constructs and automation. It emerged from a design lineage that emphasizes board state development through the creation of token creatures, positioning the character as a central figure in mechanical engineering lore.
The visual design of Oviya was crafted to convey a sense of industrial ingenuity and meticulous craftsmanship. The illustration emphasizes the character's role as an artisan, blending the organic elements of the inventor with the rigid aesthetic of her clockwork creations. Upon release, the card was received as a utility-focused piece, noted by players for its ability to scale in power as the game progresses and its synergy with artifact-heavy deck builds.
