Where it came from
Parallax Tide was originally printed as a rare enchantment in the Nemesis expansion of Magic: The Gathering in February 2000. It was designed as part of the 'fade' mechanic cycle, allowing players to manipulate resource counters to temporarily exile lands. The card's ability to disrupt an opponent's mana base or trigger land-related synergies made it a potent utility piece during its tenure in the competitive environment.
This specific version originates from the World Championship Decks 2000 product, which featured preconstructed replicas of the decks piloted by the top players at the 2000 World Championships. These cards are distinguished by gold-bordered frames and the signature of the professional player on the front, serving as a commemorative snapshot of the high-level tournament meta-game as it existed during that competitive season.
