Phyrexian Golem

The Phyrexian Golem token was released as part of the Double Masters 2022 set, a supplemental product designed to provide players with sought-after reprints and thematic support. Within the lore of Magic: The Gathering, these tokens represent the soulless, metallic constructs created by the Phyrexians to serve as expendable soldiers in their relentless pursuit of multiversal perfection. The design reflects the grotesque, biomechanical aesthetic synonymous with the plane of New Phyrexia, characterized by jagged edges, porcelain-like plating, and an unsettling fusion of flesh and machine.

This specific token illustration follows the artistic direction established for the Phyrexian faction, emphasizing their cold, clinical approach to warfare. The art serves to ground the mechanical utility of the token in the wider narrative of the game, helping players visualize the relentless swarm of golems often generated by cards like Phyrexian Triniform or other artifact-focused strategies. As a promotional token included in booster packs, it is valued by players who prioritize thematic consistency and artistic immersion in their tabletop decks.
