Plant

The Plant token, collector number 19, was released in 2024 as part of the 'Outlaws of Thunder Junction' Commander set for Magic: The Gathering. These tokens were produced to support specific cards within the expansion that generate creature tokens, allowing players to physically represent board states during gameplay. The set’s overarching theme blends a high-fantasy western aesthetic with the game’s multiverse lore, resulting in creature designs that reflect the rugged, frontier atmosphere of the plane.

The design of this token follows the established visual identity of Wizards of the Coast’s token line, which prioritizes clarity and functional iconography to distinguish various creature types on the table. Created by the internal art team to maintain visual consistency across the Commander preconstructed decks, the artwork serves as a utilitarian bridge between complex card mechanics and the physical game environment. As with most standard-issue tokens, it was designed for accessibility and widespread inclusion within the product line rather than as an individual collector’s piece.
