Plant

The Plant token, numbered 18 in the Planechase Anthology set, was released in 2016 as part of a comprehensive collection designed to support the multifaceted gameplay of the Planechase format. These tokens were produced to provide physical representations for game states created by cards like Avenger of Zendikar, which saw reprints throughout the anthology's four preconstructed decks. The inclusion of these tokens aimed to streamline the play experience, ensuring players had standardized markers for creatures generated during complex planar encounters.

The visual design of the token follows the established aesthetic language of the modern Magic: The Gathering card frame, emphasizing clarity and functional utility. While individual token illustrations in such sets are often commissioned as part of the broader artistic oversight of the franchise, this piece maintains the cohesive, vibrant style associated with the Zendikar plane. It was received as a practical and necessary accessory by the player base, providing a consistent visual shorthand for the board state during tabletop sessions.
