Platinum Angel // Platinum Angel

The Platinum Angel card from The Brothers' War Art Series was released in 2022 as part of a collectible sub-set within the wider Magic: The Gathering expansion. These cards were designed specifically to highlight the intricate illustrations from the set, presenting them on a premium, borderless format without the standard gameplay text. This series functions as an aesthetic showcase, allowing collectors to focus entirely on the artistic interpretation of iconic creatures and artifacts reimagined through the lens of the Urza and Mishra conflict.

The original illustration for this version of Platinum Angel was crafted by artist Volkan Baga, who utilized a regal and ethereal visual language to convey the card's mechanical significance, which dictates that the player cannot lose the game. By stripping away the frame and text, the design emphasizes the seraphic, metallic geometry of the figure. The card was well-received by the collector community for its clean, artistic presentation, serving as a popular companion piece to the traditional game cards found in the primary expansion.
