Where it came from
Priority Boarding was released as part of the Unfinity set in 2022, Wizards of the Coast's fourth expansion centered on the 'Un-' series, which prioritizes humor and experimental gameplay mechanics over standard tournament legality. The card was designed for the 'Attractions' mechanic, a thematic sub-game introduced in this set that parodies the experience of visiting a carnival or theme park. By allowing players to manipulate the order of their Attraction decks, it leans into the set's playful exploration of luck and sequencing within the Magic: The Gathering ecosystem.
The artwork, illustrated by artist Caio Monteiro, captures the vibrant, neon-soaked aesthetic characteristic of the Unfinity carnival setting. The visual design highlights the whimsical nature of the set, utilizing a bold color palette and dynamic composition to evoke the feeling of a futuristic amusement park entrance. Within the community, the card is recognized for its ability to optimize the unique, randomized play patterns that define the Unfinity experience, serving as a functional cornerstone for players building dedicated Attraction-themed decks.
