Priority Boarding

Priority Boarding was released in 2022 as part of Unfinity, the fourth installment in Wizards of the Coast's Un-set series. This set was designed to explore space-themed science fiction tropes through the lens of Magic: The Gathering's traditional mechanics, while introducing the first Un-set cards intended for legality in certain Eternal constructed formats. The card is a white common that plays on the thematic concept of air travel boarding groups, serving as a playful top-down design that encourages players to interact with the game's turn order.

The card was illustrated by artist Matt Dixon, who utilized his signature whimsical, character-driven style to capture the chaotic aesthetic of an interplanetary departure lounge. His work for this set sought to balance the inherent silliness of the Un-series with the established visual language of the game, creating a piece that felt at once grounded in science fiction humor and distinctly recognizable as a Magic card. It received a warm reception from casual players for its clever flavor text and lighthearted mechanical gimmick.
