Where it came from
Processing Plant was released as part of the Mystery Booster 2 set, a specialized compilation designed by Wizards of the Coast to celebrate the history and mechanical breadth of Magic: The Gathering. As a card that leans into the game's long-standing interest in artifact-centric deck building, it reflects the R&D team's effort to create unique, experimental designs that function within the context of chaos-draft environments and supplementary product releases.
The card features an aesthetic consistent with the industrial and utilitarian themes found in various planes across the multiverse. Its design emphasizes functional utility, prioritizing mechanical synergy over traditional lore-based narrative. Like many cards featured in the Mystery Booster series, it was intended to offer players a novel gameplay experience, utilizing the unconventional borders and frame treatments that distinguish this particular set from standard expansion releases.
