Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer // Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer

The Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer art card is part of the March of the Machine Art Series, released by Wizards of the Coast in 2023. These cards are non-gameplay collectible inserts found in set boosters, designed to showcase the intricate illustrations from the Magic: The Gathering card game. This specific entry features the artwork by Simon Dominic, which was originally commissioned for the Modern Horizons 2 set to depict the legendary monkey pirate Ragavan, a character who became a central figure in the game's competitive landscape.

The design of this art card emphasizes the character's mischievous nature, stripping away the rules text and card frames to focus on Dominic's dynamic illustration. By presenting the artwork in a clean, gallery-style format, these cards allow collectors to appreciate the high level of detail in the digital painting, which was intended to bring a vibrant, narrative-driven aesthetic to the legendary creature. The release of this card within the March of the Machine set served as a tribute to one of the most recognizable and impactful character designs in the game's recent history.
