Rootbound Crag

Rootbound Crag was originally introduced to the Magic: The Gathering ecosystem in the 2007 set Lorwyn. As part of a cycle of dual lands that enter the battlefield tapped unless the player controls a basic land of the appropriate types, it was designed to provide efficient mana fixing for mid-game plays in standard play environments. The card has been reprinted across various sets, reflecting its enduring utility as a staple for red and green decks.

The Bloomburrow Commander version, numbered 326, features distinct artwork by Matt Stewart. In this iteration, Stewart illustrates the crag through the whimsical and pastoral lens of the Bloomburrow setting, which reimagines the world as inhabited by anthropomorphic woodland creatures. The design bridges the functional, rugged nature of the original land with the softer, storybook-inspired aesthetic that defines the Bloomburrow expansion.
