Provenance

Where it came from

Season of the Bold was released in 2024 as part of the Bloomburrow expansion for Magic: The Gathering. The set is notable for its anthropomorphic animal theme, set in a plane devoid of humans, which necessitated a shift toward woodland-inspired aesthetic design and cozy, fable-like storytelling.

The card was illustrated by David Auden Nash, who employed a vibrant, painterly style to capture the intense, elemental nature of the spell. As a red-aligned enchantment, it was designed to provide players with temporary card advantage and mana generation, fitting into the aggressive and impulsive playstyle typically associated with the color red in the game's color pie.
