Where it came from
Season of the Burrow is a rare enchantment card released in 2024 as part of the Magic: The Gathering set Bloomburrow. The set is notable for its anthropomorphic animal theme, drawing inspiration from the cozy fantasy genre and classic woodland literature. This specific card was designed to reflect the set's focus on creature-centric mechanics, allowing players to create copies of permanents they control, which leans into the imaginative, storybook aesthetic crafted by Wizards of the Coast for this plane.
The card’s illustration was created by artist Livia Prima, who has contributed extensively to the Magic: The Gathering catalog. In this piece, Prima aimed to capture the tranquil yet magical atmosphere of the valley of Bloomburrow, focusing on warm tones and the whimsical nature of its inhabitants. Upon its release, the card was received favorably by the community for its versatility in gameplay and its successful integration of the set's narrative art style.
