Where it came from
Season of the Bold was released in 2024 as part of the Bloomburrow set, a Magic: The Gathering expansion defined by its whimsical, anthropomorphic animal theme set in a pastoral world. This specific card, numbered 152s, serves as a promotional variant, showcasing the distinct 'Field Notes' aesthetic that highlights the artistic direction of the set, which draws inspiration from classic storybook illustrations and natural history sketches.
The card features artwork by an illustrator commissioned by Wizards of the Coast to lean into the cozy, storybook-inspired identity of Bloomburrow. Designed to evoke the charm of woodland folklore, the card was distributed through promotional channels to celebrate the launch of the set, quickly becoming a sought-after piece for players and collectors who appreciate the synergy between functional game design and the set's immersive, narrative-driven visual language.
