Where it came from
Shared Summons was released as part of the Core Set 2020 expansion for Magic: The Gathering, specifically appearing as a promo card. Designed as a sorcery that allows a player to search their library for two creature cards, it reflects the green color identity's focus on creature utility and deck thinning. The set was intended to provide a foundational experience for players, blending new mechanics with established card types to bridge the gap between casual and competitive play.
The artwork for this specific printing was created by artist Igor Kieryluk, whose style often emphasizes fluid motion and fantasy world-building. In the context of the set's release, the promo variants were distributed through local game stores to incentivize participation in organized play. While the card functions as a situational tutor, it is recognized for its thematic resonance with the set's focus on elemental and nature-based magic.
