Where it came from
Shared Summons was released as part of the Core Set 2020 expansion for Magic: The Gathering, specifically featured as a promo card. This card serves as a thematic continuation of the game's long-standing focus on creature-tutoring mechanics, allowing players to search their library for specific creatures to add to their hand. Its design reflects the set's broader goal of providing utility and strategic depth to green-aligned decks by facilitating consistent board development.
The artwork for this particular iteration was crafted to capture the essence of woodland magic and the connection between creatures and their summoners. Like many cards within the Core Set 2020 promotional series, it was distributed to players through organized play events and retail initiatives designed to celebrate the launch of the set. The card received a positive reception from competitive players for its reliable utility in Commander and other casual formats, becoming a staple tool for those who prioritize card advantage and consistency.
