Provenance

Where it came from

The Shark token, numbered 4 within the Duskmourn: House of Horror Commander set, was released by Wizards of the Coast in 2024 to support gameplay mechanics within the horror-themed expansion. These tokens serve as physical manifestations of temporary game objects, specifically designed to represent the shark creatures summoned by certain spells or abilities during a game of Magic: The Gathering.

The visual design draws from the set's overarching aesthetic, which leans heavily into 1980s slasher films and supernatural horror tropes. The artwork reflects the gritty, suspenseful atmosphere of the Duskmourn plane, emphasizing the tension of a creature lurking just out of sight. As with most tokens produced for modern Commander sets, the design focuses on utility and thematic consistency, ensuring players can clearly identify the creature's presence on the battlefield while maintaining the chilling visual tone of the set.
