What it does

When this creature enters, look at the top two cards of your library. Put one of them into your hand and the other into your graveyard.

"Oh, I can absolutely verify its authenticity," chuckled Sarnai. "I was there when it was made."

Provenance

Where it came from

Sibsig Appraiser was released as part of the Tarkir: Dragonstorm set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. The set draws heavily from the themes of the Tarkir plane, a world defined by its shifting timelines and dragon-centric mythology. This specific card represents the Sibsig, a faction of undead servants serving the Sultai Brood, embodying the dark necromancy that characterizes the faction's aesthetic within the game's expansive lore.

The card’s illustration was crafted to reflect the grim, decaying nature of the Sultai, focusing on the visual identity of the graveyard-manipulating entities common to this set. While the card is a functional piece designed for deck construction and limited gameplay, it serves as a bridge between the game's mechanical interaction with the graveyard and its narrative commitment to the history of the plane of Tarkir.
