Siren's Call

Siren's Call was originally released in 1994 as part of the Magic: The Gathering expansion set commonly referred to as Edgar, or Summer Magic. This set was a limited-run promotional reprint of the Revised Edition, intended to correct errors found in the previous printing, though it ultimately became one of the rarest sets in the game's history due to an accidental, near-total destruction of the inventory by the manufacturer.

The card features artwork by Anson Maddocks, a foundational artist for the early game whose style often leaned into the eerie and surreal. In the context of the game, the card functions as an instant that forces opponents to attack with all creatures, reflecting the flavor of a siren luring sailors to their doom. The design represents the experimental top-down mechanical approach prevalent during the early years of Wizards of the Coast.
