Where it came from
Skysovereign, Consul Flagship was originally introduced in the 2016 Magic: The Gathering set Kaladesh, designed to highlight the game's shift toward an industrial, art-deco inspired aesthetic. The card features the 'Vehicle' mechanic, allowing players to animate a piloted airship for combat, representing the high-tech, mana-fueled ingenuity of the plane of Kaladesh.
The Secret Lair Drop version, numbered 1029, features stylized, premium artwork intended to emphasize the luxury and imposing nature of the Consulate's military might. This specific printing was released as part of a curated series of specialized promotional cards, finding favor among collectors for its distinct visual departure from the standard set art while retaining the core strategic utility of the original design.
