Where it came from
The Sledge-Class Seedship, identified as card number 208s in the Edge of Eternities Promos set, was released as a promotional tie-in to expand the lore of the Edge of Eternities expanded universe. It was designed to represent the rugged, utilitarian aesthetic of humanity's early interstellar expansion efforts, serving as a tactical vessel within the game's mechanics.
The illustration for the card was commissioned to emphasize the vessel's heavy industrial design, focusing on its massive, slab-like silhouette meant to convey its role as a literal 'sledge' for breaking through hostile space. While the card is a niche piece within the broader set, it is appreciated by collectors for its distinct visual departure from the sleeker, more advanced ship designs prevalent in the main series.
