Snow-Covered Plains // Snow-Covered Plains

The Kaldheim Art Series, released by Wizards of the Coast in 2021, served as a celebratory sub-line within the broader Kaldheim expansion. These cards were produced as high-quality, frame-less art prints that highlight the illustrative world-building of the set. The set draws heavy inspiration from Norse mythology, aiming to capture the harsh, icy, and legendary atmosphere of the Kaldheim plane through the work of various fantasy illustrators commissioned to provide new, expansive visuals for the game.

This specific art card, featuring the Snow-Covered Plains, showcases the atmospheric landscape design characteristic of the set's aesthetic focus. These cards were distributed as promotional collectibles meant to highlight the artistic depth of Magic: The Gathering rather than for gameplay utility. They were generally well-received by the community for their gallery-quality finish and the opportunity to view the intricate details of the terrain art without the obstruction of game text or border frames.
