Soltari Visionary

Soltari Visionary was released in 1998 as part of the Exodus expansion for Magic: The Gathering. As a card within the Rath Cycle, it reflects the narrative of the Soltari, a race of shadow-dwellers trapped between dimensions who were seeking to escape the influence of the villainous Phyrexians. The card's mechanics, specifically its ability to destroy enchantments, were designed to provide utility within the white color identity during a period when the game was heavily focused on the tactical interplay between artifacts and enchantments.

The artwork was commissioned from illustrator Adam Rex, who was a frequent contributor to the game during the late 1990s.
