Tamiyo, Seasoned Scholar Emblem

The Tamiyo, Seasoned Scholar Emblem was released in 2024 as part of the Modern Horizons 3 set for Magic: The Gathering. This emblem serves as a mechanical aid for players who activate the ultimate loyalty ability of the planeswalker card Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student. Like other promotional tokens and emblems in the set, it was designed to provide a clear, physical tracking tool during gameplay, featuring art that maintains stylistic continuity with the core card’s narrative arc.

The design of the emblem focuses on functional clarity, stripping away the complex rules text typically found on the planeswalker to highlight the specific effect granted to the player. The illustration reinforces Tamiyo’s role as a scholar and investigator within the Magic multiverse. Upon release, these tokens were well-received by the player base for their utility in organized play and their contribution to the cohesive visual aesthetic of the Modern Horizons 3 expansion.
