Thopter

The Thopter token, marked as collector number 6, was released as part of the Innistrad: Crimson Vow Commander set in 2021. Designed to represent the small, artifact-based flying creatures created by various spells and abilities within the Magic: The Gathering universe, this specific token features art consistent with the gothic horror aesthetic of the Innistrad plane. Its visual design emphasizes the mechanical, brass-like construction typical of Thopter units while integrating the muted, moody color palette prevalent throughout the set.

These tokens serve as functional game pieces, created by Wizards of the Coast to facilitate play for mechanics that generate artifact tokens. Because these cards are distributed specifically within Commander preconstructed decks rather than the main expansion boosters, they are valued by players for their utility and specific thematic art. The design team focused on maintaining a consistent visual language that distinguishes these artifacts from the creature-heavy, eldritch themes of the surrounding Crimson Vow environment.
