TL;DR

TL;DR is a card featured in the Mystery Booster 2 set, a specialized release designed by Wizards of the Coast for Magic: The Gathering events in 2024. The set functions as a conceptual follow-up to the original Mystery Booster, focusing on 'playtest' cards that explore unconventional mechanics, joke designs, and experimental card types that would not typically appear in standard competitive play. It represents the collaborative and often whimsical internal brainstorming process of the game's design teams.

The design of TL;DR leans into the game's evolving meta-humor, specifically referencing the modern tendency for card text to become increasingly dense and complex. By mechanically rewarding players for skipping the reading process or condensing information, the card serves as a satirical commentary on the 'wall of text' design philosophy that has drawn critique from portions of the player base. It was received as a lighthearted inclusion, intended to be drafted in casual environments where the absurdity of its function could be fully realized.
